Dr. David Seil Kim, MD, PhD, MBA, FACOG, brings nearly three decades of distinguished expertise in Obstetrics and Gynecology to Yunella Women's Health, driven by a progressive vision that seamlessly blends technological advancement with genuine human connection. His career is a testament to a relentless pursuit of excellence, integrating extensive clinical skills with a robust academic and research background, all while fostering a warm, approachable, and patient-centered environment.

Dr. Kim's formidable academic journey began with a BS from UC San Diego, followed by an MD from SUNY Downstate. Dr. Kim completed his residency training at The George Washington University, in Washington DC. After residency, he was recruited to join the faculty at University of Hawaii School of Medicine, where he was also accepted into the founding class of an NIH funded physician clinical research graduate training program, only 1 of 3 in the country at the time. There he further honed his expertise with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences/Clinical Research and an MBA from the University of Hawaii. This unique combination of qualifications equips Dr. Kim with a comprehensive perspective that bridges clinical mastery with the forefront of medical research and efficient, modern practice management. This allows him to not only provide exceptional care but also to continually refine and advance how that care is delivered, making it more accessible and patient-friendly.

Following his time at the University of Hawaii, Dr. Kim dedicated 15 years as a valued faculty member and physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. During his tenure there, he also served with distinction as Assistant Director and later as Interim Program Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program, shaping the next generation of physicians. His commitment to medical education is further evidenced by his extensive academic career, which includes appointments at the University of Hawaii, as an Associate Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Currently, Dr. Kim holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor at Charles Drew University.

Dr. Kim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and has served as an ABOG Specialty Certifying Examination Examiner (Oral Board Examiner) since 2016, contributing to the high standards of the specialty. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Kim has contributed to national women’s health policy and practice through his service on several national ACOG committees. His leadership and dedication to excellence have been consistently recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Robert D. Sparks Leadership Award from the California Medical Association Foundation, the AAGL Outstanding Laparoscopist Award for his surgical proficiency, multiple accolades for teaching, and consistent recognition as a Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctor and a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.
